The COBRA Administrator role requires delivering exceptional customer experiences to participants and clients while meeting tight deadlines. This position involves working effectively as part of a team and executing tasks efficiently.

- Provide COBRA participants with detailed information regarding COBRA regulations, timelines, and restrictions.

- Ability to communicate clearly via letter, email, and phone.
- Must be detail-oriented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills. The nature of this team requires a high level of energy and the ability to balance conflicting deadlines and work under pressure. Other essential requirements and responsibilities include:
- Gather, organize, and maintain departmental information.
- Provide daily customer support to COBRA participants and clients in an accommodating manner.
- Setup and maintain employer client information in our COBRA software system.
- Train employers on COBRA processes and systems.
- Process information and data files submitted by employers to deliver required COBRA notices within required timelines.
- Work directly with insurance carriers to enroll, make changes, and terminate COBRA participants.
- Follow processes and procedures communicated by the COBRA Director.
- Advise clients on COBRA-related issues and concerns.
- Other projects or duties as prescribed by the Manager.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience with a PC and proficiency in MS Office is required, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Expert ability to work under demanding time constraints and expectations.
- Ability to learn and use COBRA software system.
Performance Expectations:
- Must display respect in the workplace and exhibit the ability to get along with others.
- The ability to have fun while working.
- 40 hours a week – Typically an 8am to 5pm schedule.
- Must be able to be the primary COBRA contact for approximately 300 employers.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to GBS Benefits policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions:
This position enjoys the benefits and climate control of a quiet office environment. Employees are provided with ergonomically sound workspaces. Work is accomplished at a computer terminal either sitting or standing. Employees must access, input, and retrieve information from the computer system. Comfort and efficiency are considered in employee workspaces. Daily work includes computer interfacing, data entry, communications (electronic and physical), movement throughout the office, attending meetings, etc.
Physical demands include the ability to lift and move objects (typically 0 – 10 lbs) and visually monitor information/data on a computer screen.
