Summary of Position
The Ingredient Specialist position is responsible for insuring compliance with all Quality and Food Safety programs, especially those associated with incoming goods. Additional responsibilities include support and collaboration with other departments in a professional, proactive manner. The Ingredient Specialist will always provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers/suppliers and will maintain professional relationships with always having the best interest of the company. Cross training with Receiving Admin and other tasks as needed.
Essential Duties for all Employees
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment that promotes work safety and product integrity.
· You must follow all Safety, HACCP & GMP requirements always.
· Willing to be flexible to accommodate changing business conditions.
· Ensure cleanliness around facility, freezer, and production area.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
· Review grading with a high level of detail and understanding, insuring the agreed upon product specifications, grading and all other requirements are clearly understood and adhered to and the dockage protocol if not.
· Evaluate all products, ensure that all raw materials meet the required specifications.
· Collaboration with Procurement, QA: demonstrate ability to interact across inter-departmental boundaries in a professional proactive manner. Work together with all different departments to support food safety and quality.
· Create Electronic Records for all Grading: manage and maintain electronic records and documentation for all raw materials Grading daily.
· Responsible for accurately maintaining & processing all QA and Procurement requests and ensuring GCF policies are strictly followed. Provide highest level of communication and response to all within 24 business hours of all requests.
· Work with procurement on inbound schedules and discrepancies.
· Review incoming shipments, verify receipts and documents for accuracy and completeness.
· Participate in the monthly Internal Audit
· Will work closely with Receiving Dispatch and support inbound deliveries as needed.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year work experience in performing quality inspection.
· Bilingual, Spanish
· Strong communication, reporting, organization, teamwork, and time management skills
· Experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
