Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Application Engineer to support our design, deployment, and integration of enterprise-level security systems. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Avigilon and CCURE systems and will serve as a technical expert supporting pre-sales engineering, system programming, and post-installation troubleshooting. This role is critical to ensuring successful deployments by working closely with project managers, field technicians, account managers, and clients to deliver integrated, reliable, and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and configure Avigilon and CCURE-based access control and video surveillance systems.
- Collaborate with sales and project teams during pre-sales to provide technical insight and develop system architecture proposals.
- Create detailed system documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and configuration settings.
- Support installation teams during commissioning and final system testing.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and provide escalation support for complex system problems.
- Interface with client IT departments to ensure proper network integration, system permissions, and cybersecurity compliance.
- Stay current on new product releases, firmware updates, and security patches for supported platforms.
- Provide training and technical support to end users and client stakeholders as needed.
- Will be reporting to the Director of Engineering or CTO.
Qualifications
- Required: Valid and current certifications in Avigilon (ACC/ACM) and CCURE 9000.
- 3 years of experience in physical security system engineering or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, servers, and Windows-based environments.
- Familiarity with structured cabling, electronic door hardware, and low-voltage systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar software for system design is a plus.
- Ability to manage time across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
