POSITION OBJECTIVES
The primary focus of this position is to assist in the development of technical and commercial proposals for engineering and design scopes as directed by the Engineering and Design Sales Manager.
Position must be able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team, company management, alongside potential and existing clients and possess basic knowledge of Engineering/Design principles and processes.
Responsibilities:
Position duties include working with colleagues to develop full technical and commercial proposals as directed. This may include working with clients, vendors and subcontractors to compile all information required to meet the demands and specifications of clients’ requests. This position will also be directly involved with Marketing and may require direct communication and meetings with clients.
- Work with technical staff to create detailed engineering and design scopes of work based on client specifications.
- Developing cost estimates and schedules for projects based on client specifications.
- Preparing proposals for bids on new projects,
- Communicating with clients to gather information about their needs and preferences regarding detail scope of works
- Evaluating risks with contingencies related to the scope of work
- Interfacing with Exmar Management on company priorities
- Assist with development of marketing material, not limited to presentations, capability statements, etc.
- Research and development of potential new markets in which company services can be provided
- Potential to attend Meetings and events with existing and new clients
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. Engineering or equivalent relevant field and experience.
- Work experience with engineering design, marine contractor/engineer or consulting engineer preferred.
- Must have proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and related software packages.
- Creativity for Presentation Design preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of schedule generation in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
- Some familiarity with contract terms is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The individual must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
- A strong commercial acumen is essential.
