Role :
The Estimator is responsible for creating accurate and complete bids for each new project presented. Tasks include maintaining construction documents, technical submittals, coordinating weekly engineering logs / schedules, performing requisition tracking, and change orders.
Estimator will handle material sourcing, purchasing and change order tracking across multiple jobs. Must be able to read plans, computer spreadsheet up keeping and AIA documentation. Experience in construction is a must.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, be self-motivated, with the ability to effectively prioritize work to ensure that all tasks and projects are completed on time with the utmost attention to supporting the Field and Accounting Operations.
Scope of Work :
- Understand scope of work to be bid (very important)
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, Plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Strong understanding of the construction process
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Able to multi task and meet strict deadlines
- Create Change Order
