GC&E Federal is seeking a Help Desk Support Technician. The candidate for this position will work within our team to support our government Information Technology (IT) program with our Fort Devens client. As a Help Desk Support Technician, you will be responsible for service desk support on the contract.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTION• Working position and lead of Help Desk Support Technician• Support O&M functions.• Proficient with MS OS.• Critical thinking skills in addition to strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service orientation, and excellent interpersonal skills, especially the ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain the resolution when necessary.• Will know installation guides and how to implement new software products.• Will be familiar with network file shares, data synchronization and data backup and transfer techniques. Be proficient with hardware such as personal computers (PCs), printers, scanners, plotters, card readers, and other peripherals. Be able to diagnose and correct hardware problems, perform upgrades, and install new or replacement hardware. Be familiar with the STIGs for networked devices. • Evaluate customer prepared request for acquisition and life cycle replacement of end user devices to include computers, laptops, and other hardware.• Provide local Touch Labor services for unclassified computers and peripheral devices to include installation, troubleshooting, and facilitating repairing.• Provide local Touch Labor Services for printers, copiers, scanners, and multi-function devices residing on the SIPRNET to include installation, troubleshooting and repair. Does not include cost for replacement parts, unpacking, hardware/software setup and moving equipment.
Physical Requirements• Predominantly indoors in normal office environment• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach• Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English• May require frequent computer use for several hours at a time• Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions• Must have visual acuity• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds

Experience:• Five 1 of professional experience within a help desk role• Proficient with Microsoft OS’s• Sufficient knowledge of active directory, group policies, and networks so they can add systems or users, diagnose login problems, and identify the source of a problem as a group policy or network.• Be proficient in Power Shell Scripting.• Critical thinking skills in addition to strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service orientation, and excellent interpersonal skills, especially the ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain the resolution when necessary.
