POSITION TITLE: Porter MANAGER: Property Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Porter is responsible for keeping the grounds, interior, and exterior common areas, vacant apartments, sidewalks, and alleyways of the property in a clean and safe condition. The Porter also assists in other types of maintenance when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience:
· 1-2 years minimum previous general apartment or institutional housekeeping experience preferred, but not required
Abilities:
· Must be a well-organized self-starter
· Knowledgeable of equipment (vacuum, mop, broom, etc.), chemicals, and general protocols used for cleaning
· Prompt and dependable with the ability to maintain a daily cleaning schedule
· Ability to understand and complete directives provided by the manager or lead Maintenance Technician
· Employee must have dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, smartphone technology, and proof of auto insurance
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Demonstrate a pleasant demeanor on the job.
· Assist with tracking and communicating inventory levels as required for the products and equipment needed to perform duties.
· Perform light maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs and air conditioner filters
· Ensure that equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
· Immediately respond to spills or accidents which may present a safety hazard and, if appropriate, place caution signs alerting others to the hazard.
· Monitor and clean all exterior and interior common areas.
· Note and report any repairs and safety hazards that they cannot resolve to the site manager.
