Job Description

GCI's Integration Engineer IV will design, implement, and maintain seamless integrations between diverse systems, networks, and business applications ensuring they work together effectively to support the organization's operations and strategic goals. Plays a critical role in enabling efficient data flow, automating processes, and ensuring real-time communication between systems. Leverage expertise in APIs, middleware, and integration frameworks, to help the company deliver reliable, scalable, and innovative services to customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS :

Design and Development of Integration Solutions :

  • Analyze integration requirements from business and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop integration solutions using APIs, middleware, or other integration tools.
  • Build and configure data mappings, transformations, and workflows between systems.
  • Ensure that integration designs meet scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance ensuring adherence to organizational data security standards and regulatory requirements.

Implementation and Testing :

  • Implement integration solutions, ensuring proper configuration and deployment in various environments.
  • Perform unit testing, system testing, and end-to-end testing to ensure integrations work as intended.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues during development and testing phases.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders :

  • Work closely with software developers, data engineers, and business analysts to gather and clarify integration requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between teams, ensuring integration solutions align with business needs.
  • Communicate technical details effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Documentation :

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for integration workflows, configurations, and processes.
  • Document troubleshooting guides and operational procedures to support team knowledge-sharing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and persuasion.

  • Takes initiative in communication and collaboration among remote and onsite teams.
  • Ability to accurately read, write, and respond to business correspondence such as emails, chat messages, policies, procedures, reports.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information virtually (i.e., Teams), over the phone, and in-person in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in a clear and concise manner to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with APIs (REST, SOAP) for system integration, including API design, development, and documentation.
  • Proficient in working with middleware and integration platforms.
  • Skilled in querying and managing both relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • Strong SQL capabilities for writing queries and performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations.
  • Familiar with cloud-based integration tools and services, such as Azure and AWS.
  • Understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SSO) and security protocols (SSL / TLS, API keys).
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Experienced in automating workflows and business processes.
  • Excellent organizational and technical problem-solving abilities.

    Additional Job Requirements :

    This is a senior level position within the discipline functioning in a lead role as the subject matter expert (SME). Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficiency in all areas of responsibility. Performs highly complex and unique tasks and job duties, receiving minimal to no instruction on routine work and new assignments. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. Designs and oversees the most complex and high-risk integrations, requiring a deep understanding of business systems, technical architecture, and enterprise operations.

  • Define the organization's integration architecture and long-term strategy.
  • Guide the design of enterprise-scale integration solutions, ensuring alignment with overall IT and business objectives.
  • Develop highly complex, mission-critical integration systems, addressing enterprise-level performance, scalability, and security challenges.
  • Lead the development of custom frameworks or tools to solve unique organizational needs.
  • Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and policies for integration across the organization.
  • Conduct reviews of integration solutions to ensure architectural compliance and technical excellence.
  • Act as a key decision-maker, influencing cross-functional IT and business teams.
  • Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and trends in integration, leading the adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders to align integration initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Partner with other architects and engineers to define enterprise-wide technology roadmaps.
  • Additional Competencies :

  • Minimum Qualifications :

    Required :

  • A combination of relevant work experience and / or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in solutions architecture and other disciplines in a telecommunications and / or IT environment, including technical architecture, network design, application development, integration, cloud services, data architecture, security / compliance, and operational support.
  • Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Engineering or relevant field.
  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.
  • DRIVING REQUIREMENTS :

  • This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office / home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
  • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.
