At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Technical Project Manager, a typical day will include the following duties :
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for delivery of customer-focused software and IT projects. The primary function is to manage, support, and advise the customer. The individual will work closely with other project managers and various software engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations teams to assess requirements, coordinate resources, and deliver projects for the customer. As a member of a project team, serves as the primary interface between the project team and other groups, to include support needed by other team members. An essential skill for success is the ability to tailor the project management lifecycle and essential IT operations processes to function effectively to meet the customer’s requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing industry-standard Project Management Life Cycle tasks, as well as experience in tailoring standard process life-cycles to function effectively in a small, fast-paced environment. They must have strong written and verbal individual and organizational communication skills and the ability to articulate technical project requirements to both customers and internal teams. Experience supporting and managing high-volume data collection and processing operations is preferable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work / military experience
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience (additional experience may be substituted for a degree)
