Role Title : Pricing & Strategy Analyst

GCL is seeking someone experienced in quoting, pricing, and operations, primarily related to international and domestic air and / or ocean freight. As the Pricing and Strategy Analyst, you play a pivotal role in helping to shape the pricing landscape for the organization. This position would work across all brands to help the sales and operations team land new business. Your responsibilities involve providing input to pricing systems, responding to quote requests and RFPs, supporting sales members in landing new / existing business opportunities, and collaborating with other teams internally to ensure profitability while aligning with GCL strategies. You will have the opportunity to shape the company’s competitive edge through smart pricing decisions. Location : The position’s preferred location will be based in one of our corporate offices anywhere a GCL office is located worldwide but exceptionally qualified remote candidates will also be considered.

Job Type : Full Time

Work Schedule : Monday-Friday. Schedule fluctuates based on workloads (Core hours 9AM-5PM).

Experience : Requires at least 5 years in a logistics company, preferably with a freight forwarder, with all of that experience involving quoting, pricing, RFP preparation and inside sales.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Collaboration Across Departments :

a. Work with existing pricing strategy employees to prepare and present quotes and RFPs to new or competitive business opportunities.

b. Maintain active communication with various departments, including sales, legal, finance, distribution, customer service, and quality / regulatory teams.

c. Provide data-driven insights to senior management to help guide decision-making.

d. Support and advise sales team members pursuing new business through competitive pricing and high service levels.

e. Maintain smooth transitions between departments and ensure the sufficient execution of new opportunities.

2. Client Relationships

a. Communicate with new clients as the first point of contact to anticipate operational and service needs.

b. Follow up with clients for quote feedback, assist in creating new business opportunities, and build relationships that turn new accounts into legacy accounts.

c. Provide competitive pricing for new quote opportunities promptly to make solid impressions on new clients.

3. Pricing System Development :

  • Compile and present competitive rates for new business opportunities quickly in domestic and international sectors.
  • Ensure pricing compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Manage and generate data that reflects historical context, profitability, win / loss ratios, and areas that need improvement, analyzing return on strategic investments, profitability, and other key metrics.
  • Assist in creating RFPs / RFQs for domestic / international special projects or long-term business agreements.
  • Negotiate rates with partners, maintain budgets, and arrange operational options that meet budgets and service needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Education : A relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in fields such as Finance, Business, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Management is preferred.
  • Skills :
  • a. Financial analysis and pricing systems.

    b. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and ERP systems.

    c. Ability to integrate information across various fields.

    d. Comfortable working through ambiguity and imperfect data

    e. Excellent analytical and research skills

    f. Excellent at verbal and written communication

    g. Good negotiation and problem-solving skills

    h. Effective reporting and presentation

  • Desired Experience :
  • a. Previous experience with quoting / pricing in a freight forwarding capacity, financial evaluation, and market-based segmentation.

    b. Previous experience with various modes of just-in-time logistics, both international and domestic preferred.

    c. Familiarity with intelligence collection processes to achieve reliable outcomes.

  • Must be open to change and an advocate for continuous improvement.
