About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse manager to join our San Francisco Freight Forwarding office. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our warehouse facility in South San Francisco CA 94080. You will work closely with our operations manager to coordinate warehouse schedule , organization, develop efficiencies and run the day to day operations ensuring that our SOP are followed at all times.
This is a full time Warehouse manager position with opportunity for overtime and career growth. The ideal candidate will have a great opportunity to learn about project-based logistics and operations with room to grow within the company. We are looking to welcome someone with a bright and quick disposition to the Rock-it Cargo team.
Responsibilities:
- Organize the floor and storage for day to day activities and special operations
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and ordering supplies (Propane, labels, shrinkwrap)
- Responsible to communicate and look after any repair and maintenance requirements
- Managing, organizing, and retrieving cargo in the warehouse
- Scheduling loading and unloading of large operations
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding equipment
- Loading and unloading trucks/ocean containers
- Building and breaking down skids/airline pallets
- Maintain shipping and receiving logs
- Checking documentation for accuracy or discrepancies
- Accepting and processing incoming materials
- Calculating and entering warehouse charges in operations files
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience managing a cargo warehouse
- 3 years of experience driving a forklift
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to proactively problem solve
- Excellent communication skills
- Must wear protective gear and steel-toed shoes
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Strong prioritization, planning, and time management skills
- Comfort with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and basic computer knowledge
- Must possess valid identification, preferably a valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a security background check
- Punctual and dependable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with cargo screening procedures a plus
- Forklift certification
- Experience with inventory management software
- Experience in a customer service role
