Position Mission

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of industrial, marina, and tilt-up construction projects through proactive coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Preconstruction staff, you’ll play a critical role in driving schedule, budget, and execution success across multiple project types.


Key Result Areas (KRAs)


KRA #1: Project Coordination and Support

Goal: Ensure all construction activities are efficiently coordinated and documented to meet aggressive project timelines and quality expectations.

Performance Standards:

  • Maintain complete, current project documentation.
  • Proactively support critical path activities.
  • Ensure clear communication across design, field, and client stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Track RFIs, submittals, permits, and schedules.
  • Support mobilization, equipment logistics, and material coordination.
  • Facilitate documentation flow between teams and capture action items from meetings.


KRA #2: Budget and Cost Tracking

Goal: Assist in monitoring and documenting project financials with precision.

Performance Standards:

  • Track commitments, invoices, change orders, and allowances.
  • Provide documentation for cost reviews and forecasts.
  • Maintain budget logs that support accurate billing and forecasting.

Duties:

  • Help manage subcontractor pay apps and vendor invoices.
  • Track owner changes and cost impacts of scope shifts.
  • Assist in aligning project budgets with field performance.


KRA #3: Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination

Goal: Ensure alignment between subcontractor deliverables and project requirements.

Performance Standards:

  • Coordinate timely submittals and shop drawing reviews.
  • Track procurement milestones for long-lead items.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all project partners.

Duties:

  • Assist with coordination of tilt-up, utility, and marina packages.
  • Monitor procurement timelines and assist in schedule alignment.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with updated specs and plans.


KRA #4: Quality, Safety, and Compliance Support

Goal: Maintain the highest standards of construction safety and quality.

Required and Preferred Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years as an APM or Project Engineer with a general contractor.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.


Preferred

  • Experience in tilt-up, marina, or industrial construction.
  • Knowledge of design-build delivery.
  • Familiarity with coastal permitting and inspection workflows.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
