POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for operation and maintenance of one or more systems such as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and air circulation), refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water, domestic water, hydronic, or electricity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the systems, including HVAC system controls, lighting control, and power monitoring.
- Able to perform diagnostic testing and analysis of system changes and problems.
- Capable of performing preventive maintenance operational checks on actuators, valves, and dampers.
- Insure proper working order of boilers, chillers, machinery, pumps, compressors and other building mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate with trades in performing tasks related to operating or maintaining the equipment and systems.
- Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, thermometers, sensors, and charts.
- Records data of various aspects of system operations.
- Perform maintenance on operations system and other building mechanical equipment to include Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, Fan Coil Units, Vales, and VAV’s
- Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to boilers, chillers, pumps, Air Handlers, Fan Coil Units, VAV’s and other associated mechanical equipment.
- Perform minor after hours repairs
- Performs housekeeping duties in Central Utility Plant (CUP), Cooling Tower area, Pump House, and BAS control station area.
- Answer the Work Reception/Help Desk phone in the absence of the dispatcher or after hours and take the appropriate information to address the issue.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Actively participate in the GCR & Project Occupational Safety & Health Program.
- Perform all assigned work in a safe and reasonable manner that avoids preventable injury and preventable property/equipment damage to you, co-workers, customers, GCR, Government and/or the public.
- Immediately report all occupational injuries, unsafe conditions, and/or property damage.
- Use and enforce the wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Always wear a seatbelt while operating/riding in a company vehicle, government vehicle, or a privately owned vehicle while performing work activities or acting as an agent of GCR.
- Not be unfit for work due to the presence, ingestion, consumption or inhalation of illegal drugs, prescribed medications, over-the-counter drugs and/or alcohol.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Submit to and successfully pass Pre-employment Drug Screening and a Background Check.
- Class 1 or 2 State License required.
- Minimum of five years experience in the operation, maintenance, and chillers over 950 tons.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, using the English language.
- Have valid driver's license and be a citizen of the United States.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with high-pressure boilers.
- OSHA 10 certification.
