The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) at GCS-SIGAL plays an important role in supporting our employees and representing the GCS-SIGAL brand both internally and externally. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the HRC will engage in various HR functions, including recruitment, benefits administration, compensation and payroll support, employee training, and general HR operations. Key Responsibilities
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist new employees through the onboarding process.
- Facilitate 90-day check-ins with new employees
- Conduct exit interviews, gaining valuable company insights.
- Serve as an ambassador for GCS-SIGAL, ensuring a strong employer brand in all interactions with potential candidates
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings and conducting phone screens
- Maintain applicant tracking system.
- Support university recruiting and internship programs, helping to identify and develop future industry leaders
- Act as a liaison between employees and the company’s benefits broker
- Assist with annual open enrollment, ensuring a smooth and well-communicated process
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
- Ensure payroll-related changes are accurately recorded and communicated
- Partner with the Senior Human Resources Manager to provide relevant payroll data and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
- Respond to unemployment inquiries and assist with employee verifications
- Serve as a backup resource for HR team members when needed
- Collaborate with other departments on initiatives that enhance employee engagement and company culture
- Identify skill and knowledge gaps to recommend training opportunities that support employee growth
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1-3 years in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or Benefits Administration.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred
- Experience with Paycor is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong customer service mindset, ensuring employees feel supported and heard
- Proactive in identifying and solving HR challenges
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- Leadership skills with the ability to drive initiatives and execute strategic HR projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- Comfort navigating active construction sites when necessary (PPE provided)
