Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support the optimization and efficiency improvements of an automated packaging machine. The ideal candidate will focus on reducing cycle time, lowering costs, and enhancing scalability and performance through advanced motion control and automation improvements. This role involves testing, troubleshooting, and refining machine processes, with a strong emphasis on Rockwell automation, PLC programming, and motion control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize PLC programs using Ladder Logic and Structured Text in Rockwell automation environments.
Improve motion performance through advanced servo motion control.
Design and implement HMI interfaces for seamless operator interaction.
Perform safety programming to ensure compliance with safety standards and mitigate risks.
Build and configure server-based automation systems from the ground up.
Conduct testing, debugging, and modifications to improve system performance.
Travel to Louisiana and Nashville as needed to support lab operations and implementations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop automation solutions for robotics, packaging, material handling, and industrial machinery.
Required Experience & Skills:
Rockwell Automation expertise with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Advanced Motion Control.
Strong background in HMI development and PLC programming.
Experience with safety programming in industrial automation.
Ability to build and program automation servers from the ground up.
Proven track record in industrial automation, robotics, packaging, or material handling systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Codesys programming experience future projects involve designing a next-generation machine utilizing Codesys.
