Position Summary:

  • The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for daily Quality Operations activities for first article, in process, and final inspection across assembly operations to ensure all Finished Goods conform to product specifications and documentation complies with the Quality Management System and applicable regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings, models, and/or work instructions.
  • Review DHRs and applicable quality records for compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Perform First Article and Final Inspections; gathering data and submitting reports.
  • Perform material release of product.
  • Inspect products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Add organizational value by implementing innovative solutions and best practices involved in all processes of the product realization value stream.
  • Support Quality Engineers with identifying nonconforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly.
  • Oversee the preparation of inspection plans and checklists for inspections.
  • Aid with data collection and root cause analysis investigations.
  • Specialize in receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, final inspection, etc.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Responsible for documenting inspection results on logs, summarizing re-work, and may be required to input into Quality database.
  • Disposition material as appropriate.
  • Interface with Engineering, Quality, and Assembly to communicate quality standards and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Control nonconforming material and assist in release of quarantine product, which includes creating, verifying, and closing nonconforming reports.
  • Support lean initiatives and contribute to a continuous improvement focused culture.


Experience And Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in Quality Inspection
  • Experience utilizing tools such as micrometers, pin gauges, surface height indicator and digital and manual calipers preferred.
  • Ability to read, engineering drawings, product specifications, receiving inspection plans, and test procedures.
  • Understanding of sampling plans using AQL sampling and 100% inspection.
  • Ability to lift and work with parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Strong computer abilities; web-based systems, Microsoft Office, Material and Document Control Software
  • Experience working within a government regulated environment or certified quality management system, such as FDA, FAA, or ISO
  • Commitment to excellence and exacting standards
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, and timely oral and written reports.
  • Accurately complete detailed forms and reports.
  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints and 3D models.
  • Relevant experience in a direct manufacturing role may be substituted for some or all of the requirements listed above.


Pay Rate

  • $22–$25 per hour
