The Assistant Food Service Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service department within the County Correctional system. Duties
- Oversee all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise and train a diverse kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs of clients.
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining budgetary controls.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards.
- Develop and implement training exercises for staff.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Engage with clients to gather feedback and improve service delivery.
- Assist and support the Food Service Director and other Senior Assistants with daily operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management or a related field within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with dietary requirements and nutrition principles is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A degree in Culinary/ Hospitality Management or Serve Safe is advantageous but not required.
- This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
