Job Description: STAFF DINING ROOM (OVERNIGHT STAFF)
GD Correctional Services, LLC is the leading Food Service provider for County Correctional. You will be working for the Food Service as a Contract Employee for the Prison Department. This is a 365 day a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day Facility, so nights, weekends and holidays are required.
Immediate work (all shifts) is available at our account located within the Philadelphia Department of Prison on State Road in Philadelphia, PA 19136.
HOURLY SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL TO BE PAID AFTER 90 DAY INTRODUCTORY PERIOD.
Reports to: Retail Manager and /or Assistant Food Service Director
JOB DESCRIPTION This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: assignments are specific and clearly defined. Incumbents must be aware and comply with safety and sanitation laws, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Arranges food and beverage items (e.g. placing in steam tables, a la carte trays, filling racks, mobile carts, etc.) for the purpose of making items available to students and staff.
· Cleans utensils, equipment, and the storage, food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions.
· Collects Tokens and signatures for food items from Staff for the purpose of completing transactions and/or securing funds for reimbursement of costs.
· Inspects food items, work areas, etc. (e.g., personal hygiene, proper food temperatures, etc.) for the purpose of preventing cross contamination of food borne illnesses.
· Loads carts, food warmers, trays, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that food and/or beverage items are available for transporting to other sites (by assignment).
· Serves one or more items of food for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional requirements.
· Uses proper body mechanics and cleaning procedures for the purpose of preventing accidental injuries to self and others.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the Security Clearance required by the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. Background FREE of criminal history of any kind including not having any outstanding unpaid Fines, Taxes, Parking and Moving Violations etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school education or GED is required.
· Must be able to Read, Write and do simple Math to facilitate proper communication with others.
· Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures
· Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals
· Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
· Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations. Adheres to sanitation, safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
· Clean walls, vents and Refrigerator and warmer boxes per shift.
· Follow proper chemical guidelines for using chemicals.
· Report any maintenance problems to the Supervisor.
· Completes all required training.
· Must be able to maintain security clearance.
· Include working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
