Overview:
GD Resources is seeking a passionate and experienced Protestant Music Director to lead music ministry for Protestant worship services at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Chapel. This is a dynamic position requiring both musical and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a diverse, multi-denominational community.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, select, and lead music during Sunday services, special holiday events, and rehearsals.
Direct and perform with praise teams, choirs, ensembles, and instrumentalists.
Collaborate closely with the Chaplain Sponsor to align musical selections with liturgical themes.
Conduct weekly rehearsals (1 hour) and coordinate sound checks and music preparation before services.
Provide musical direction for up to 7 holiday and 6 special event services per year.
Recruit and coordinate volunteer musicians and vocalists.
Ensure proper setup, use, and cleanup of chapel instruments and sound equipment.
Maintain professional decorum and attire in all services and rehearsals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Protestant worship music leadership.
Ability to read sheet music and proficiency in vocals and at least one instrument (piano, keyboard, organ, or guitar).
Experience in both traditional and contemporary Protestant worship styles.
Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with copyright compliance in music performance.
Ability to pass a criminal background check (in accordance with DoDI 1402.5).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading music in military chapel or pluralistic religious environments.
Comfortable coordinating complex services like baptisms, communion, and seasonal observances.
Skilled in teaching vocal harmonies and directing multi-instrumental teams.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work Sundays, holidays, and attend monthly chapel meetings.
Willingness to coordinate substitutes during absences with at least 1-week notice.
