Job Overview:
GD Resources is seeking a skilled Protestant Musician to provide contemporary worship music for Protestant services at Buckley Space Force Base. The musician will lead worship, play an instrument, and coordinate music with the Protestant Parish Pastor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead worship music during Protestant services, playing either acoustic guitar, piano, or keyboard.
- Sing and lead the congregation in contemporary worship songs.
- Collaborate with the Protestant Parish Pastor to plan worship music and order of service.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals and prepare song lyrics and slides for worship.
- Maintain and set up music equipment before and after services.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteer singers and musicians.
- Ensure adherence to copyright regulations (CCLI reporting).
- Support special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Praise Nights, etc.).
Schedule & Expected Commitment:
- Regular Worship Services: Every Sunday morning (52 sessions per year)
- Weekly Rehearsals: One weekday evening rehearsal per week (52 sessions per year)
- Special Services & Rehearsals: 5 special worship services (e.g., Christmas Eve, Good Friday) and 5 additional rehearsals
- Total Commitment: Up to 114 sessions per year
Qualifications:
- 2 years of college education in music performance or equivalent experience leading contemporary worship in a church/chapel setting.
- Proficiency in playing and reading music for at least one instrument (guitar, piano, keyboard).
- Experience coordinating and leading contemporary worship teams.
- Ability to set up and troubleshoot sound equipment (microphones, monitors, soundboards).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with volunteers of various skill levels.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with DoD requirements.
