Job Summary:
The Telecommunications Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing telecommunications operations, including managing personnel and supporting telecommunications systems critical to public safety functions such as 9-1-1 services. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience supervising telecommunications operations, with a strong understanding of systems supporting business functions and emergency response communications. This role will involve analyzing and improving the efficiency of public safety communication centers, emergency operations centers, and call centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Supervision: Manage and supervise telecommunications operations and personnel to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- System Analysis: Analyze information requirements for public safety communications centers, emergency operations centers, 9-1-1 public safety answering points, and call centers.
- Problem-Solving: Evaluate and address issues in work flow, organization, and planning within telecommunications operations to identify potential problems and recommend improvements.
- Operational Improvement: Develop and implement strategies for operational improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of telecommunications systems.
- Telecommunications Systems Support: Provide technical support and oversight for telecommunications systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements for public safety and business functions.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports, documentation, and analysis of telecommunications system performance and recommended solutions for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with public safety and emergency response teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of telecommunications systems.
Required Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience supervising telecommunications operations and personnel.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems supporting business functions, particularly in public safety and emergency response environments, including 9-1-1 services.
- Proven experience in analyzing and solving operational problems, with the ability to make recommendations for improvements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to manage complex operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing personnel and coordinating with public safety stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in public safety communications, emergency operations centers, 9-1-1 answering points, or call centers.
- Knowledge of best practices and operational standards for public safety telecommunications systems.
- Relevant certifications in telecommunications or public safety communications.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Public Safety Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
