Maintenance Technician Lead
Job Title: Maintenance Technician Lead Prepared By: HR Manager
Department: Maintenance Approved By: Director of HR
Reports To: Production Manager
Summary: Performs maintenance duties as needed, including repair of machines, equipment, and facilities
Essential Function:
- Maintain and repair machines, equipment, and facility
- Maintain building surroundings and property
- Perform maintenance and janitorial tasks as needed
- Coordinate outside repair/replace services as needed
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic machines and equipment
- Adhere to business management system (BMS), as applicable
- Assist with any other duties as assigned
- Assigning tasks and training new staff.
Basic Requirements:
- Basic to intermediate math and computer skills
- Basic written/verbal communication skills
- General knowledge of manufacturing facility and equipment
- General to advanced knowledge and experience in a broad range of areas, including machine repair, facility maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and janitorial
- Basic inventory skills, including ordering and stocking replacement parts
- General knowledge of machine guarding and other safety features
Physical Exposure:
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting
- High voltage electrical devices
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Oils, solvents, grease, chemicals, and coolants
- Sharp edges on equipment and material
- Exposure to weld flash, smoke, grinding sparks, dirt and dust
- Frequent fork truck traffic
