Collaborates with the GE Appliances Organization and Talent Development leader, the Enterprise Learning Council, HR Leaders, and all functional L&D teams across GE Appliances to plan and deliver exceptional learning experiences and training content to employees. This role is responsible for conducting needs analysis, curriculum development, budget management, and performance measurement. The Learning Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting all activities for training initiatives such as new hire orientation, development programs across all functions (including developing programs for leaders, co-op, intern development, etc.), and vendor-led training sessions.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Training Operations: Ensures training efforts runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Plans and implements quarterly and annual company training schedule based on needs assessments or feedback from the organization.
  • Manage quarterly spend (budget) and learning KPIs in collaboration with Finance and Org/Talent Development Leader.
  • Focus on efficiently implementing training programs, coordinating logistics, scheduling, participant registrations, managing vendor relationships, tracking training data, and managing internal/external resources.
  • Monitor and track training engagements through pre/post participant surveys and report back to the business.
  • Build and maintain GE Appliances’ catalog of training opportunities and vendor partnerships.
  • Manage vendor partnerships to ensure smooth execution of training initiatives.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to build awareness related to upcoming training schedules, various learning resources, or miscellaneous training events. Collaborate with internal communications to implement various communication to the business or various audiences (e.g., marketing upcoming training, training cohort communications, post training highlights, etc.)
  • Optimize development content and assets in order to appeal to the appropriate target audiences and meet desired learning objectives. Training experiences could be digital learning, webinars, speaker series, virtual training, or instructor-led.
Prioritize learning and development priorities:
  • Serve as the GE Appliances Learning Council lead to identify business unit specific development priorities, feature new training initiatives, and share best practices across the enterprise.
  • Consult with key stakeholders to bring learning opportunities specific to the needs of the function or for a group of learners.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an employee learning and development or training coordinator roles
  • Strong organizational and project management skills - ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail is a must to ensure a smooth learning experience for participants.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and agreements
  • Must have exceptional communication (verbal & written), presentation, and interpersonal skills are crucial
  • Resource Management: Properly manage training budgets, materials, and classroom (virtual and in-person) training set-ups
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies
  • Some experience with measuring and evaluating training effectiveness
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with other trainers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and solve challenges within the training team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in a relevant experience related to employee development and training
  • Application of training / Kilpatrick evaluation model to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
  • Experience in developing and implementing employee/lprofessional development programs
  • Knowledge and experience using various training technologies, including e-learning platforms, virtual platforms, and learning management systems
  • Ability to leverage project management tools and principles
Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (e.g., training materials, classroom supplies, etc.)
  • Up to 25% of travel required for domestic travel to customer sites/ plants, etc.
