This role may require applicants to visit job sites throughout the state, for up to a week at a time. Lodging and a stipend for food will be provided during extended stays.
Pay
$20 - $24/hour. CDL required for $24/hour rate.

Position Overview
The Utility Laborer performs a variety of manual construction work such as digging by hand, lifting, holding, pushing and other duties necessary to install various utilities in a safe and efficient manner. Job specific training will be provided, growth potential for those who demonstrate hard work, reliability and self-motivation.
This position requires a strong work ethic, reliability/dependability and self-motivation.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of manual construction work such as digging, lifting, holding, pushing and other duties necessary to install various utilities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload piping and lay it into place as directed.
- Show up to work on time every day ready to work.
- Work as part of a team or crew to accomplish daily and weekly expectations.
- Support clean-up of job-site at the end of each shift or day.
- -Some overtime may be required.
- For those with a CDL License, additional responsibilities may include operating a backhoe, directional drill and/or hydro vac.
- Help with other tasks, as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Hardworking, with a strong work ethic.
- Dependable to show up to work daily on time and ready to work.
- Trustworthy, can be trusted to follow through with the directions given.
- Safety oriented, able to do the work with minimal injuries/accidents.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated.
- Team player works well with others as well as independently.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
- Ability to regularly work up to 50 hours per week.
- Flexibility to spend full work-weeks out of town, near a job site.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.; sponsorship will not be available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid and current CDL.
- High School Diploma, GED, some College/Trade School
- Construction or general labor experience.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 100lbs.
- Experience operating a backhoe, directional drill and/or hydro vac.

- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand (for 10 hours per shift), carry and dig; regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; climb; talk or hear. Lifting, carrying and laying down heavy pipe will require employee to exercise proper form using legs, arms and back muscles. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; ability to lift up to 100lbs preferred. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat and/or cold. The noise level in the work environment may be elevated at times, depending on location and scope of work.
