This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids and necessitates a presence in the office for 3-4 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.
Job Description
The Engineer - Embedded Software Development is a critical role within the aerospace sector, dedicated to the rigorous testing of embedded software running on many different products. This position demands a thorough understanding of Software Test methods including requirements based testing, test script development, and hardware / software integration skills. Setup and configuration of test hardware, computers, peripherals, and test equipment are also needed for this role.
Role and Responsibilities :
- DO-178C Software Verification : Develop test cases, test procedures for requirements-based testing of embedded software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders throughout the software life cycle.
- Perform Software Test Automation : Expertise in using automation tools and frameworks to design and implement test scripts.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, and C to develop and maintain automated tests.
- Perform integration of automated tests into Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with various development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, etc.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with development engineering teams, and other team members to ensure software and hardware is thoroughly tested. Participate in all phases of the design / development cycle, from concept to release.
