This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.
Job Description
The Platform Software group develops embedded software for a multitude of product areas at GE Aerospace across both civil and military markets including avionics computing and networking, flight management, vehicle health and data management, and mission systems.
The Lead Software Engineer (LSE) will be responsible for technical leadership of small engineering teams of up to 7 engineers on key projects. They will provide technical oversight and guidance to their software teams to successfully complete full-lifecycle embedded software development efforts through DO-178C certification.
Responsibilities :
In this role, you will focus on the following areas of responsibility :
Technical Leadership :
- Guide project team through the full software lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, verification & validation, and certification.
- Manage day-to-day operation of software project team to meet cost, schedule, scope targets; provide status and leverage metrics to monitor team progress.
- Provide technical oversight of all aspects of the software product design and artifacts.
- Provide technical direction to suppliers.
