Job Description Summary
The Defense and Systems (D&S) Product Cost Leader is responsible for the strategy, execution, and leadership of cost out activities for the F404 product lines. The cost leader will leverage experience in engineering, VCPLab, sourcing, finance or product management to drive cost out opportunities that will result in achieving business financials and positioning for better market cost competitiveness. This individual will also lead CTE platform engine data analytics to drive price and part harmonization / rationalization. The cost leader will work with a cross functional team to generate, evaluate, execute and sustain cost out activities. The cost leader will also work within the D&S productivity team to transform the processes and capabilities across the productivity value stream.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities :
The F404 product cost leader will own the pipeline for cost productivity on the F404 product lines. The cost leader will identify and communicate opportunities to reduce material and conversion costs. The cost leader will work with the product line, engineering, sourcing, VCP lab and the production shops to evaluate, execute, and implement cost out projects while mitigating cost future cost risks.
The cost leader will own the daily operating and reporting rhythms for the F404 product line and support those within the Combat and Trainer Engine group. The cost leader will participate in PCB and the sourcing deal reviews to ensure cost impact is understood and effectively communicated to key stakeholders. The cost leader will apply lean and problem-solving principles to drive corrective action on cost and continuous improvement within the D&S productivity organization. Through the data analytics activities, this individual will act at point person from CTE to sourcing to highlight opportunities across the platform for pricing harmonization. Additionally, this role will help standardize data assessment packages for CTE to be utilized in shops or by sourcing to drive cost out opportunities
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in product management)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering, sourcing, finance, shop operations or product management
- This role is restricted to U.S. person (s) (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
