Job Description

The Sub-Section Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of military controls engineering program managers who are dedicated to the successful execution of various military programs. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in program management, controls systems, and military aerospace programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage a team of controls engineering program managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful program execution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet program objectives, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace's SQDC priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to drive program success.
  • Monitor program performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery and cost targets are met.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging lean principles and best practices to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Communicate program status, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program management, with a focus on controls systems and military aerospace programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, including hiring, training, performance management, and career development.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
