Lead Electrical Engineer / Technologist

Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer is responsible for supporting key design initiatives across the electric power industry with a focus on design and integration of instrumentation and control systems to various ADGT gas turbine products, supporting equipment design on various power plants. The candidate will ensure execution excellence across a portfolio of NPI, Services, ITR, PCO and CM&U programs and projects - conducting analysis, design studies and delivering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, issuing customer resolutions on defects, failures of critical systems. This position enables growth in technical breadth, strengthening of knowledge in electrical systems for various turbine / generator auxiliary systems supporting qualifications, on Industrial Control Panels, fire protection and vibration systems.

Job Description

Essential Functions :

• Support the electrical / systems design and integration of an Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Package for multiple Product Lines in a power plant application.
• Capable of selecting and evaluating electrical / electronic hardware for gas turbine generator systems and familiar with various analog / digital signals and network architecture.
• Knowledgeable in electrical design AC / DC distribution, cable sizing, raceway systems, earthing and bonding able to integrate instrumentation feedback into Industrial Control Panels.
• Familiar with detailed design, sizing, and interfaces, including UPS, battery, instrument / control systems and power distribution / motor controls utilized on a power plant.
• Lead design reviews for reliability, performance, safety, and compliance programs for overall gas turbine generator systems.
• Participate in problem solving and resolution skills (supporting RCA's, FMEA's and HAZOP reviews).
• Working knowledge of applicable national & international codes such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, CSA, including hazardous area directives ATEX.
• Develop projects / programs schedules with milestones and task assignments with cross functional engineering teams.
• Interpret Single Line Diagrams and develop wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and schematic diagrams applying electrical design principles to improve the overall electrical system.
• Improve quality, delivery, and cost of GEV products within team's scope.
• Implement lean methodologies including standard work, standard product, and kaizen.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, Production and Global Supply Chain to execute on projects / programs; additionally, supporting and driving solutions internally with Product Services, Project Fulfillment, Performance, Supplier Quality, Applications and Controls engineering functions.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 97,500.00 - 162,400.00 .The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% annual performance incentive.
