As a leader in Controls Engineering, you will be an active contributor to the Gas Power business and deliver systems and designs that are fundamental to the GE Vernova purpose. You will be responsible for all aspects of Controls engineering to protect, operate, and control all of GE Vernova Gas Power's new power plant projects, including Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Plant.
Job Description
- Lead & manage the Controls Engineering - Heavy Duty New Unit Value Stream.
- Direct global team to define & execute engineering strategy including Hardware and Software design for Mark VIe Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine power train control systems plus broader Plant distributed control systems(DCS).
- Drive team performance on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost KPIs.
- Set and meet capacity vs demand.
- Innovate and lead controls platform and Heavy Duty New Unit new product design.
- Improve Culture thru building a focused Heavy Duty New Unit controls team.
- You will lead a team of over 200 engineers in executing 150 annual projects to bring ~15GW of new power on-line each year globally.
- Manage, improve and foster key relationships with the Alliance execution Partner, Multiple internal stakeholders, and several of GE Vernova's largest customers.
- Execute large scale plant customer witness tests and power plant startups each year, controlling & protecting up to $7B in new Power Plant assets annually.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 15 years of design and team leadership experience in the Power Industry
- Extensive expertise and experience of industrial control system design for power plants, gas and steam turbines.
- Advanced knowledge of power plant customers and control system providers.
What will make you stand out
- You have a proven track record and experience with leading Mark VIe control system designs, and/or with distributed controls systems.
- You have a network with Power Generation utility customers and plant operators.
This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 2/20/2025.
- The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
