Job Description About the Role:
GE Vernova is seeking Mechanical Assembly Operators who can apply their knowledge of tools and assembly skills to build High Voltage Circuit Breakers in accordance with Quality Control procedures, assembly drawings, and instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
Unpacks parts and inspects each one for proper functioning and ensures completeness.
Knowledge of standard assembly tools and practices including wrenches, power drivers, and torque wrenches.
Assembles breakers to standard drawings and customer specifications or prepares breakers for shipment or cleans and prepares tanks and sub-assemblies for downstream assembly.
Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
Performs assembly functions in accordance with Quality Control Procedures to ensure the output will meet QC and customer standards.
Inspects own work to ensure that each breaker is properly assembled, vacuumed, pre-filled, and ready to test and ship.
Attention to detail and neatness of work.
Documents work performed by filling out proper forms (labor, QCR's, etc.).
Cleans work area at the end of the shift.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of electromechanical experience or training.
Quality background and attention to detail.
Desirable Characteristics:
High Reliability.
Flexible and able to work weekends when business needs dictate.
