Job Description Summary
The Operator / Metal Fabricator position at our Erlanger, KY Service Center requires a versatile and adaptable employee capable of working with a variety of machines. The Operator will be expected to set up and operate diverse fabrication equipment, including CNC plasma tables, press brakes, drill presses, cold saws, and plate rolling machines. This role demands flexibility and a readiness to engage and learn about different machinery ensuring that all operations are handled efficiently and effectively within our service center.Job Description
Your role
- Sets-up and operate fabricating machines such as CNC plasma table, press brake, drill press, cold saw, and plate rolling machine.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and bevellers
- Basic blueprint reading – Understanding specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- De-burr, grind and finish with hand tools or power-driven equipment
- Produce high quality work and achieve tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawings
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety standards and requirements
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required
Basic Qualifications (requirements):
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 3 years experience working with fabricating machines
- Press brake, drill press, plasma table operations
- Blueprint reading
- Working knowledge of metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers, ruler, and height gauge)
- Strong math skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to handle heavy equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong team working skills
The salary range for this position is $22 - $32 Hourly. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
