Job Description Summary
This position is part of the GE Vernova Wind Controllership leadership team reporting directly to the Executive Global Business Controller primarily focused on working through complex project accounting topics, solving technical accounting issues across the globe, and ensuring that they appropriately translate to the financial reporting processes for the segment. This individual will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, specifically all aspects of ASC 606 over-time and point-in-time accounting principles, financial and internal controls, and have a strong understanding of financial reporting and how the accounting processes get represented on the financial statements. This person must have experience interpreting accounting literature, documenting positions in the form of technical accounting memos, and clearly articulating these positions to management. They will ensure global compliance with local statutory regulations, U.S. GAAP, SOX controls and procedures. This senior individual will have an in depth understanding of the business or function and how their role integrates with others within their discipline leading a small team and working cross-functionally across the entire business.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead cross functionally in partnership with the Wind finance and senior leadership team to understand key risks and opportunities in the business to provide the necessary support and feedback on various items from a technical accounting position.
- Support on the understanding the balance composition of the balance sheet relevant accounts, assist the extended team, internal and external auditors, with the understanding and explanation of the balances and ensure the related and associated process have proper controls in place.
- Organize and facilitate all quarterly review processes to ensure accuracy of the Wind balance sheet and cash flow statement, and how that feeds the external reporting.
- Support in quarterly FRPs and Balance sheet deep dives for the segment and Tier 2 businesses within the Wind segment.
- Document technical accounting memos and perform accounting analysis.
- Lead and document in various quarterly procedures, including but not limited to quarterly EHS reviews, legal reviews, equity method accounting reviews, goodwill impairment reviews, fixed asset impairment reviews, and loss contract assessments.
- Maintain the currency and relevance of policies and accounting standard operating procedures in alignment with the evolving business landscape and dynamics.
- Maintain a running list of all technical accounting matters that get clearly documented in a summarized way to share updates periodically with management and auditors.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and engage lean team where applicable.
- Assist in complex and technical issues advise and resolution engaging and communicating with multiple stakeholders as applicable and identify risks during pacing reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a nationally accredited university or college
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in public accounting or advancing career movements, with a high controllership, process, and operational partnership-oriented mindset

The base pay range for this position is $147,400 - $245,600 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 15%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than February 7, 2025.
