Job Description Summary
The ATMRO Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and executing strategic communications for a global audience of ~10,000 employees in the Assembly, Test, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization. In this role, you will support executive communications for the ATMRO leader and the organization’s senior staff and collaborate extensively with the Commercial Engines and Services (CES) communications leader to execute 360-degree strategic communications plans.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership communications support to ATMRO leader for both internal and external audiences, under the direction of the CES communications leader and in collaboration with the broader communications team
- Partner with ATMRO leadership team to develop and execute an ATMRO communications strategy (including leader messaging, all-employee meetings, business updates, storytelling, etc.) to connect employees to the business’ strategy and to drive connectivity and engagement
- Collaborate with the broader communications team to develop content for GE Aerospace owned channels (internal and external), with potential for earned channel coverage
- Build a network across global MRO sites to identify communications needs, drive connectivity, and to implement communications best practices and identify storytelling opportunities to support internal
- Provide consultation and resources to MRO leadership staff for their day-to-day communication needs (e.g. engagement, functional, and communication flowdown best practices), leveraging CES- and Aerospace-wide templates and best practices
- Collaborate with the external communication team and other key stakeholders to support crisis communications and issues management at ATMRO sites,
- Work in seamless collaboration with the entire communications team, including regional communicators, to ensure consistency and coordination of messaging and process, and to contribute to key priorities related to culture, strategy and change management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or equivalent experience
- 3 – 5 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to work independently on tactical deliverables and incorporate a strategic viewpoint
- Ability to work under pressure and to deliver on deadline
- Understanding of contemporary communication channels
- Ability to assess content/programming success using data and analytics
- Ability to build relationships, proactively gather feedback, and put it into practice
- Travel 10-20%
