Job Overview: Responsible for the strategic development and execution of large on and off property events aimed at engaging new guests, enhancing guest loyalty and driving profitability and business growth. Develop strategies that will enhance the image and brand while maximizing event attendance and participation. Partners with all areas of GE Marketing and multiple internal/external stakeholders and vendors to coordinate all event logistics. Responsible for accurate budgeting and proforma memo for Board of Directors and Gaming Commission approval for large outdoor events. In conjunction with Business Intelligence, provide performance analysis against proforma forecast. Recommends new and/or modified event concepts and ideas based upon participation and proforma results.

- Owns and oversees the planning and execution of large-scale, high-impact marketing events. Ensures all events are fully compliant with SMSC GE policies and procedures.
- Creates contingency plans and proactively anticipates pre, during and post event disrupters to ensure operational goals/outcomes are met.
- Partners with the Brand Marketing and Digital and Media Strategy departments to develop comprehensive communication plans for all non-loyalty club events.
- Collaborates with Business Intelligence to analyze data and prepare reports related to event KPI's. Utilizes data for continuous improvement.
- Develops and manages strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders in regard to events and collaborates with leaders in achieving department and Enterprise outcomes.
- Responsible for vendor relationships by clearly defining, communicating and managing needs, expectations and overall performance.
- Manages event volunteers (recruiting, scheduling, training, recognition, day of leadership) and provides recommendations for effective and efficient utilization of volunteer staff.
- Provides leadership and direction to all Marketing staff during events.
- Assist the Entertainment Manager in soliciting sponsorships from new partners and existing vendors.
- Provides information to the Digital & Brand Marketing team for the development of comprehensive communication plans for all non-loyalty club events.
- In partnership with Business Intelligence, develop event proforma forecast. Accountable for developing and adhering to the annual events budget. Track and report on monthly and quarterly forecasts and variances.
- Provides information and support to Entertainment Manager on any event related items. May also work with requesting departments on specific projects.
- Interviews, selects, hires and promotes team members; plans training and development, manages all aspects of continuous performance management for direct reports.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality or related and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience OR of Combination of post-secondary education and experience in the marketing, events, entertainment or related field to equal 7 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience.
- Excellent organization skills including time management, delegation, prioritization and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with peers across an organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proven success with interfacing effectively with guests, especially in guest recovery situations.
- Proficient in word-processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, and electronic mail.
- Valid Class D driver’s license, with a good driving record, may be required.
- Must be available evenings and weekends to lead and participate in events.
