- Supervise, guide, and prioritize work assignments for workshop team members.
- Ensure staff compliance with safety practices and company policies.
- Optimize utilization of resources to maintain high productivity levels.
- Identify, report, and help resolve operational roadblocks such as material shortages, design concerns, quality issues, and equipment malfunctions.
- Assist in developing production schedules and capacity plans for the workshop.
- Lead and oversee the welding certification program.
- Evaluate and recommend state-of-the-art machinery and equipment to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of time reporting for both project tracking and payroll purposes.
- Perform administrative tasks such as document processing, data entry, filing, and report maintenance.
- Track and report key performance measures as assigned.
- Continuously assess staff performance, providing timely feedback and coaching.
- Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) metrics.
- Participate in root cause analysis exercises to identify and resolve operational challenges.
- Address staff-related concerns within the scope of HR policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Profile and Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma required; Technical school graduate preferred; bachelor's degree in operations or a related field is ideal.
- Experience:
- 3 years of direct supervisory experience in an industrial setting (5 years preferred).
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred; strong leadership skills with a willingness to learn are a minimum requirement.
- Certified Welding Inspector qualification preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and material planning documents.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is ideal.
- Basic understanding of industry safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to mentor and motivate team members.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to navigate the Internet and utilize various software applications.
