Job Summary:
GEA Process Engineering is seeking skilled Heavy/ Light Assemblers to join our team. As an assembler, you will be responsible for assembling components, subassemblies, products, or systems, and ensuring they meet production specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read work orders, follow production drawings, and verbal instructions to assemble components, subassemblies, products, or systems.
- Use jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices to position and align parts in specified relationships.
- Secure parts in place using crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, press fitting, or similar operations.
- Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and route wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases and cabinets.
- Attach hardware like caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
- Perform intermediate tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, stamping, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
- Trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Perform online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Your Profile and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong mechanical skills and understanding of mechanical systems, ability to read and comprehend technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Physical Demands: Physical strength and stamina for lifting heavy parts and prolonged standing or crouching. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. more than 25% of the time but less than 75% of the time.
