This is a Senior Sound Designer position. We seek an individual who is not only creative and passionate about sound design but also brings a fresh perspective to the table. At Gearbox, our audio team is deeply committed to recording original source material—not just to expand our library, but as the foundation of our sound design. We believe that transforming organic and familiar sounds into genres like sci-fi and synthetic creates a stronger connection with the listener. Our facilities include control rooms, an Atmos mix room, and an in-house Foley stage equipped with a diverse selection of microphones and recorders. This role will involve dedicating time each week to both prop and field recording.
Responsibilities :
- Design, mix, and edit audio within a DAW to create original high quality sound effects for in-game features, systems, and assets.
- Foley and Field recording.
- Complex sound design tasks. Will be expected to handle the most forefront game feature sets of audio design such as weapons, character audio, and more.
- Delivers assets within a timely fashion and hitting a high quality bar.
- Implementation of sound effects into Wwise and Unreal , with an adept understanding of how those assets fit into a game mix.
- Coordinating and collaborating directly with other departments such as design, fx, programming, or animation on needs for tasks and system development.
- Participation and contribution in audio department sound jams.
- Use of JIRA for task and bug tracking.
- Locate and fix audio related bugs.
