Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counselor to join our team at Geary County Unified School District 475. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students, teachers, and parents to ensure the academic and personal success of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional concerns
- Develop and implement academic plans to support student success
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to provide support and resources to students
- Assist with student enrollment, orientation, and course selection
- Conduct testing and interpret results to help students understand their aptitudes, abilities, and achievement
Requirements
- Currently hold or be eligible for Kansas certification as a school counselor
- A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- A strong personal commitment to promote the effective schools program
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, administration, and parents
- A demonstrated knowledge of effective counseling techniques
