Food Service Director
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Food Service Director to lead our foodservice operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in managing large-scale foodservice accounts within national contract providers such as Aramark or Sodexo, with a preference for those with a background in a higher education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Budget Management : Oversee and manage a $5M budget, ensuring financial objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
- Team Leadership : Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of at least 100 direct / indirect reports, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Operational Excellence : Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are maintained across all dining facilities.
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff, aligning with the universitys mission and goals.
- Vendor Management : Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement and high-quality product offerings.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as university policies.
Qualifications
- Experience : Proven experience as a Foodservice Director within a national contract foodservice account (e.g., Aramark, Sodexo), with a strong preference for experience in the higher education segment.
- Financial Acumen : Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets (minimum $5M) and achieve financial targets.
- Leadership Skills : Extensive experience in managing, developing, and inspiring a large team of at least 100 direct / indirect reports.
- Educational Background : A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
