What are the responsibilities and job description for the Post Closer position at Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association?
Purpose
Once the mortgage loan request has been approved and committed, the next step is closing. Closing is important in that the lien on the property creates an enforceable debt. This position prepares the file for the Law Office and coordinates the closing process.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver closing instructions for all of the Association’s residential mortgage loan programs.
- Assist in obtaining any contingencies required for closing
- Coordinate the Loan Department closing with the Association’s attorney and borrower(s):
- Release and prepare files for closing
- Prepare Closing Disclosure and deliver to borrower in conjunction with the law office
- Verify proper flood & property insurance coverage
- Manage inspections, building loan advances and final documentation
- Collection final forms or documents that are required to complete the loan file
- Disburse funds from closing
- Use Lenderlink to transfer loan information from Mortgagebot to OSI
- Enter Loans into our servicing software
- Prepare and forward welcome letters to new loan customers
- Approve and send wire transfers
- Prepare loan disbursements
- Logging, tracking and filing of all files
- Must comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act
- Maintains confidentiality to protect the customer and the Association
- Promotes business for the Association by maintaining good customer relations with prior customers as well as new customers
- Provides courteous, efficient and friendly service to all customers and staff
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- The ability to correspond with internal and external customers in a professional manner; phone and in written form.
- Attends seminars and meetings as appropriate
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
- Four years administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, phone, writing and typing skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to multi task and prioritize tasks in a fast pace environment
- Knowledge of OSI a plus
