GEDIA Georgia is hiring for a Maintenance Tech in our Laser department on 2nd shift!
In this position, you will perform maintenance and repair of devices according to specified instructions. The ability to understand and execute work orders, PM for preventative maintenance activities as well as identify issues and repair accordingly or write work orders to have issues remedied at the earliest convenience are all important in this position. Being able to make repairs correctly the first time and avoid repeat issues, recognize cleaning as a normal important part of all maintenance functions, and recognize communication is pivotal to the department’s success.
Qualifications
Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant, including second story areas. Must be able to identify colors for purposes of executing machine and equipment repairs. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required.

Qualifications
- Read, diagnose and repair of laser machinery, perform preventive maintenance, read electrical schematics and other documents to assist in diagnosing and repairing equipment, troubleshoot machinery and equipment, communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
- Formal training leading to journeyman status in machine repair as electrician, industrial mechanic, or equivalent.
- Five years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of production equipment such as but not limited to lasers (preferably Trumpf) and assembly equipment in a high-volume production environment.
- Advanced equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with assembly related to laser machines.
- Well versed troubleshooting skills required.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS Certs, Electrical & Mechanical Repairs, Fanuc Robot and CMM and Tru Tops Cell Programming a plus.
- Must be able to operate basic hand tools, ability to run the machines, use of grease guns, forklifts, cranes, and laser equipment related to the maintenance and repair of equipment and machines.
- Works to eliminate downtime. Identifies and eliminates sources of downtime and variation through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures. Can assist with 5 why solutions.
- Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required.
