We are looking for a talented Statistical Software Programmer to join our team at the Division of Population Health and Data Science at the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Informatics Center (MAVERIC). In this role, you will be crucial in developing and implementing innovative methodologies and analytical pipelines for processing and analyzing complex VA Electronic Health Record (EHR) data.

- Develop novel data models and phenotyping methods
- Create and maintain data programming scripts and packages
- Implement machine learning algorithms for large-scale research data
- Provide documentation for VA researchers on developed resources
- Contribute to the development of online feature selection and phenotyping tools
- Participate in manuscript preparation for publications
- Master's Degree in statistics, data science, computer science, or informatics
- 2 years of statistical programming experience using R and R Shiny
- Experience in creating R packages
- Knowledge of Python and C
- 2 years of experience with statistical analysis of large-scale research data and machine learning algorithms
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, and C
- Expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning
- Ability to work with complex EHR data
- Experience with medical ontologies and phenotyping methods

- Successful candidates will undergo background checks and must obtain a PIV card for VA system access. They will be required to complete VA-provided training on security, privacy, and HIPAA regulations.
