We are seeking an Assurance Manager with experience auditing employee benefit plans to join our team. As a manager, you are able to supervise the people you support and the client engagements you own. You can juggle multiple projects to a high degree of efficiency and demonstrate advanced technical skills in auditing 401(k) and defined benefit plans. You’ll help business leaders effectively operate their benefit plans, go beyond the numbers, and develop relationships with clients while adding value and making a difference.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage, direct, and monitor client services on multiple engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete audit services and manage to budget
  • Develop and maintain quality client relationships. Maintain active client and team communications to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and meet deadlines. Comfortable with in person interactions and quick to pick up the phone to keep projects moving and build rapport with clients.
  • Perform reviews of reports and other client deliverables to ensure the highest quality, while balancing firm risk and compliance with appropriate professional standards
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a results-oriented team environment
  • Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and annual evaluations.
  • Utilize strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills while demonstrating proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS rules and standards as well as knowledge of US Department of Labor rules and regulations
  • Work with team members to share knowledge and contribute effectively to complete tasks and develop ideas and improve processes across organizational boundaries.
  • Adhere to the core values and standards of the organization.
  • Help grow a strong and well-respected specialty practice known for quality and value-added client service.

What Makes You a Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a similar discipline.
  • Five plus years recent experience in public accounting auditing employee benefit plans.
  • Strong knowledge of 401(k) plan operations and US Department of labor rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in public accounting.
  • CPA certification highly preferred.
  • Tech-savvy preferred with demonstrated flexibility and comfort adapting to new software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to participate in networking and business development activities
