Geico seeks a manager to oversee the Safety function at the company and Security Training Program, a role combining knowledge in the principles of workplace safety, supplier management and inspections, along with security training, with leadership capabilities to enhance our safety and security program. Reporting to the Head of Safety and Security, you’ll manage the safety program, safety suppliers and develop the training program for all corporate facing safety and security training modules throughout the company. As a leader in the security department, you'll leverage your experience in safety management, supplier management and training development to enhance our prevention, detection, and response while adapting to a dynamic workplace.
You Will:
  • Manage inventory and governance of safety equipment distributed throughout the GEICO portfolio and provide general oversight to the third-party supplier.
  • Conduct comprehensive safety assessments to new and existing facilities to identify any potential operational hazards and ensure current safety controls are up to Geico Standards.
  • Work with internal partners and outside agencies to investigate, respond and manage safety related incidents that occur at Geico properties or impact the firm’s personnel.
  • Participate in and make strategic decisions on the growth and direction of the GEICO Corporate Safety and Security department.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of all Geico Corporate Safety and Security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and governance to the company workforce for all GEICO Corporate Safety and Security training modules.
  • Work as a member of the Site Crisis Management Team for the Geico facilities to help with coordination of health and safety resources and business continuity.
  • Report on safety related incidents, investigations, events, and activities to senior leadership
  • Prepare, coordinate with outside resources and present to a diverse population on safety related topics.
  • Regularly review workflows and technology assets to improve operations and reduce resource effort.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to contract security staff and other team members to hone their skills to improve performance and to enable them to enhance their careers.
You Have:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to quickly rebalance priorities as warranted based on trend analysis or new regulatory requirements.
  • Experience liaising with international, federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
  • Proficient in risk communication to executive management.
  • Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with technology to include incident management information systems, threat intelligence, geo-risk platforms, VMS and event monitoring tools
  • General working knowledge of safety regulations at the Federal, State and Local levels.
  • Implementing/utilizing metrics-based program development
  • Triaging internal and external safety incidents to determine appropriate level of response and mitigation.
  • Investigation interview and report writing
  • Ability to respond to safety related incidents as they develop 24 hours per day/ 7 days per week
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 25% of the time.

Annual Salary
$111,000.00 - $207,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
