What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Government & Regulatory Affairs position at GEICO?
GEICO's Government and Regulatory Affairs team is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs to join our team. The individual will be responsible for managing a team of experienced professionals in addition to ensuring GEICO has strong relationships with policymakers, industry, and other important players.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage, mentor, and develop associates on the government and regulatory affairs team responsible for state legislative and regulatory advocacy.
- Develop strategies to advance GEICO's advocacy interests, including political giving, coalition building and messaging.
- Leverage experience and relationships with state policymakers and regulators to effectively advocate on behalf of GEICO.
- Build network of key policymakers, including state legislators, executive agencies' staff, industry, NAIC, NCOIL, trade associations, and other respected voices to amplify GEICO's advocacy efforts.
- Analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and public policy initiatives to assess potential impact and develop strategic recommendations for advocacy positions and messaging.
- Work closely with internal subject matter experts to ensure alignment of advocacy priorities, strategies, and messaging regarding legislative and regulatory issues.
- Track performance and provide executive-level reporting and analysis to Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and updates for key stakeholders including C-suite leadership.

Annual Salary
175,000.00 - $274,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate / annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
