What are the responsibilities and job description for the ERS Supervisor position at GEICO?
Salary: Starting at $65,000 - $80,000 commensurate based on experience.
The ERS unit is seeking a strong leader who is committed to driving results for our department through consistent coaching and motivating associates. The ideal candidate is skilled in the ability to drive results and manage change through fostering a positive team environment with support and accountability. Demonstrated ability to manage in phone environment and proven and demonstrated analytical skills and time management a must. Under general supervision, SUPERVISES all activities related to policyholder requests for Emergency Roadside Service and dispatching of Accident and Secondary Tows.
Key Responsibilities:
- INTERVIEWS and/or APPROVES job applicants for employment. CONDUCTS and/or REVIEWS associate performance appraisals. INITIATES or APPROVES salary adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes. COUNSELS associates and TAKES disciplinary action or TERMINATES the employment of associates as appropriate.
- SUPERVISES associates involved with receiving policyholder requests for Emergency Road Service and associates handling towing of vehicles after Auto Damage associates have evaluated the vehicle damage.
- RESOLVES policyholder and towing company complaints.
- MONITORS calls and REVIEWS completed documents. MAINTAINS statistics regarding incoming calls, completed documents and associates' performance.
- TRAINS and/or COORDINATES the training associates. PROVIDES coaching to improve associate performance.
- INVESTIGATES, RESOLVES and/or IMPLEMENTS solutions to work-related problems. RECOMMENDS changes in procedures.
- ASSISTS in preparation of plans and budgets.
- ADHERES to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.
- MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of leadership experience, preferably in dispatch or contact center settings.
- Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking.
- Must be able to speak in a professional manner by telephone
- Must be able to attain and maintain the required licenses issued by the insurance departments of various states
- Must be able to handle heavy call volume in a fast-paced work environment, resolve complex business problems and handle complicated customer issues
- Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
