GENERAL PURPOSE
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. You will machine products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and to provide high quality products delivered in a timely manner. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Cross-training in other departments to learn additional functions is required.
This is a second shift role with a work schedule of 3pm - 1:30am Monday - Thursday, Fridays as needed.
Essential Functions
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.), control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
Feed raw material or parts to machines and inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
Test operation of machines periodically and reports problems or issues regarding safety or quality to department supervisor.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines.
Participates in improvement activities as appropriate.
Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).
Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education/Experience
One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency
Minimum 1 year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in reading dimensional production drawings and specifications.
Experience in and knowledge of accessing and using information system computer databases.
Skills And Abilities
Experience with 2 or 3-axis machines is preferred.
Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.
Ability to work cooperatively to meet goals.
Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
