Private Events Coordinator
Location: The Metropolitan at The 9, Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel
Address: 2017 E. 9th Street, Cleveland, OH 44115
Compensation: $15/hour 5% commission on all sales (bi-weekly payout)
Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager
About the Role:
Are you a self-driven go-getter with a passion for hospitality, sales, and creating unforgettable experiences? The Metropolitan at The 9 is looking for an energetic Private Events Coordinator to promote and sell our unique venues:
  • The Centro – A European influenced American dining experience.
  • The Vault – The century old bank vaults located beneath the Cleveland Trust Bank Rotunda is home to a classy cocktail lounge with a speakeasy vibe!
  • Eden Rooftop Lounge – Nestled on the 12th floor of the exquisite Metropolitan at The 9 hotel, our rooftop terrace beckons with its verdant ambiance and promises a tranquil escape.
This hybrid role blends sales and operations, ensuring the seamless execution of private events, corporate gatherings, and social celebrations. You’ll be the driving force behind bookings while also assisting with on-the-ground operations to guarantee event success.
Responsibilities:
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Actively prospect and secure private event bookings for Centro, The Vault, and the Rooftop Lounge.
    • Conduct outbound sales efforts, including cold calling, networking, and in-person meetings.
    • Develop relationships with local businesses, event planners, and community organizations.
    • Achieve set booking goals and contribute to the overall revenue growth.
    • Maintain an updated client database and manage leads effectively.
  • Event Coordination & Operations:
    • Work closely with the Food & Beverage team to ensure seamless event execution.
    • Assist in event setup, guest experience, and operational logistics as needed.
    • Be on-site for key events to ensure client satisfaction and handle last-minute adjustments.
  • Administrative & Reporting:
    • Track sales performance to achieve revenue goals.
    • Prepare and present sales reports to the F&B Manager.
    • Handle event contracts, invoices, and client communications.

Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Previous food and beverage or sales experience preferred
