Driver Helper

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Drivers Helper to join our team. As a Drivers Helper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of goods to our customers. This position involves assisting the driver in various tasks related to the transportation and delivery of freight, while maintaining a high standard of safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in loading and unloading freight from the vehicle.
• Ensure that all items are secured properly for transport.
• Help navigate routes and provide directions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the driver regarding delivery schedules and customer needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
• Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary, including yard jockey duties.
• Support the driver in managing paperwork related to deliveries and pickups.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, vans, tankers, and heavy haul equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently is a plus.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items as required.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; commercial driving experience is advantageous.
• A commitment to safety protocols and procedures while on the job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $600.00 - $640.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Home daily
• Weekends as needed

Supplemental Pay:

• Performance bonus
